Okay. I'll admit it. I've been spoiled. S-P-O-I-L-E-D. And I know it. For the past two years I have been soooo fortunate to 1) Have my hubby home all day every day with me and 2) to have a house helper that kept my house clean AND helped tons with the kiddos. And now that we are back in the States, things are already starting to change. Jason will still be around a lot, but he will be gone much more too. Our job situation is a bit different here so he will also be working outside the house/dorm. And I also now have to do all my own laundry and house cleaning. I know most of you do this all the time and it is definately easier to keep a house clean here in the States than in Asia, but still. I admire all of you SAHM's who manage to keep house, cook all the meals, and be super-mommy to the kids. You all are my inspiration.
Basically, what my new life looks like is that I will probably have less time to scrap and do things scrapping related. I know scrapping will still be a huge part of my life but I just have NO IDEA how I will fit everything in now. Granted, I still don't have to prepare many meals (we get to eat free whenever the cafeteria is open) but still, I'll be pretty busy. And with Jason gone a lot, I may not have as much time to play with my trusty little 'puter.
None of this is bad, though. I love my kiddos more than I could ever express (which is the whole reason I started scrapping in the first place.) It has been fun to be spending so much time with them this summer. Their little personalities are just BLOOMING! Alaina is most of the time the sweetest (and dynamic!) little girl you could ever meet. She has more energy than I could ever dream of having. And lately, her imagination and recollection of things just amazes me. And then there is Caleb. ALL BOY. And apparently, ALL STUBBORN. That boy just doesn't give in. The other night we were at the county fair (yes, yes...bustling Asian city to hickville USA). We bought some cotton candy and since goodness know they don't need all that suguar we decided they could share. To end the fighting before it started we bought one and we decided that I would hold onto it. So I tore off pieces for the kids. Alaina devoured hers instantaneously but Caleb refused to eat it. If he couldn't hold the stick that he would NOT eat the cotton candy. His loss.
It is hard to believe that Levi is already 3 and a half months already. I still need to do his 3 month LO (I took the pictures on his 3 month b-day). He is the HAPPIEST little guy. If you interact with him he just giggles and coos. Sooooo sweet. The best thing is when we would him to bed. THe instant we lay him on his blanket (he still likes to be swadled) he starts grinning and cooing and you can tell just how much he LOVES being put to bed. It is soooo sweet!
Okay, Alaina just woke up carrying her beloved Candy Land game so I better get going. But before I do, a few pictures. Alaina and Caleb are really getting into me taking their picture. Often when they do somehting cute Alaina yells, "take a picture!" and she and Caleb ham it up. Here's proof:
And do you need proof that Caleb is indeed a little boy?
And finally...helicopter rides courtesy of moi...
Just wanted you to know that you have the most beautiful kids ever! I love how they ham it up for the camera and I love their expressions. Reminds me of when I gave them a bath in my sink! I hope the adjusting/settling in goes well. And I echo about being spoiled and having to give up all that time now for chores :-( Our kids just came back and I've had no time to myself for about a week! Anyway, happy unpacking! If you ever have time, could you write or post a little more about what your specific job will be?
