Today is going to be a good day. Jason is taking the kids out for the day and letting me have the day to myself! They are going to go to Disney (where else!) and I have opted out. Really, trudging around the park all day is getting to be a bit too much for me. My leg usually ends up hurting (my veins are still giving me problems) and I waddle much slower than the rest of them walk :) I can't ride many of the rides anyway, so, it just seems a little pointless to spend my day that way. But the kids want to go so Jason, being the guy he is, is giving them a nice day out.
That means *I* get to have a quiet day at home to do whatever I want! I have a lot of little things on my to-do list....it will feel soooo good to accomplish some of them. Most of them are about 10 minute-type jobs but I just always set them aside. It will be nice to feel "caught up" in life :) Plus, it will make going into our family day tomorrow super nice and stress free!

So, the CD albums are finally up in my shop! I had a lot of fun creating the templates and then putting two example albums together!
People have asked a lot in the past about how I put the holes in the CD's. The first album I made (last spring), I just had Jason drill me the holes. Worked great. But I had heard that a crop-a-dile can punch through almost anything and I was curious to see this amazing tool for myself. So, I picked one up....and I LOVE it. Seriously, punching through a CD with this thing was easier than punching through paper with a regular hole punch! There are two different size hold options and there is a great depth gauge. That means all your holes end up in the same place! Plus, this tool sets eyelets and snaps and other metal embellishments. What a great tool to own!

I hope you all have a great day! Off to start my to-do list!
The new CD albums are FAB! And I love my Crop-A-Dile as well. The thing cuts through stuff like buttah! :)
Enjoy the day to yourself. It's always such a good feeling to get those little jobs done and out of the way.
Happy Wednesday!

Those look great, Janet! And disregard what I wrote in my email; I ended up not going with Joel and was able to get a page done with the Fat Pack. I had hte hardest time choosing just one to play with!

Enjoy your quiet day! I really can relate to how precious those can be! :)
Those CD albums are so AWESOME! I've actually never seen one completed before. I'm really itching to get into some hybrid projects and I think these may be my first!
Thanks for sharing!

Wow - beautiful albums...and thanks for the tip on the crop-a-dile...i always wondered how they would line up and how I'd get the holes in there...this might just be a project I can do for Valentine's day:)
Have a wonderful day to yourself - those 10-minute tasks tend to pile up on me too:)

i was wondering how you cut out the circle to adhere to the cd? do you just use scissors?

Wow...those are beautiful CD albums!! I love the CD albums but they intimidate the snot out of me. Are there instructions on how you put them together?? I have a ton of kids computer CDs that are no good any more that I could used to make these...so tell me I CAN do it and that it's easy and maybe I'll take that leap!! :)

I love the new albums!! And your samples are gorgeous Janet!!
For my albums I use 12x12 sheets of chipboard instead of CDs. My LSS sells them for 5 cents each and I can get 4 circles from one 12x12 sheet using my CM circle cutter. Then I use my Making Memories eyelet tool to punch the holes. I really want a crop-a-dile but every time I go to buy one when the craft stores have 40% coupons they are always out of stock! I did just get a Bind-it-All & I want to try binding one on the side instead of using the jump ring!
Hope you have a great day doing whatever you want while the rest of the family is at Disney! We're expecting snow here in Kansas so we'll be stuck inside.

Glad to hear you're getting a day to yourself today :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new albums and had no clue that a crop-a-dile could go through a cd, that's cool to know. I just saw they are coming out with a new one that has a longer reach and can put a hole in the center of a 12x12 paper iffin you want, I'm thinking about that one :)
TFS and have a great one!
