For most of my life I have struggled with liking church. I am very picky when it comes to churches and I usually struggle to find a place that I really love. Not this year, though. I LOVE my church. We haven't been able to be as involved as we would like (due to our work schedule), but I really enjoy Sunday morning services. I actually look forward to them! The music is wonderful, the preaching is convicting and encouraging, and they are SO GOOD at dealing with holidays and special events. I mentioned the amazing Mother's Day service we had a few weeks ago and then yesterday, Memorial Day was done perfectly. To be honest, I can't actually remember any other church doing more than nod their head at Memorial Day. But not our church...we had an amazing tribute to the men and women of the armed forces. You couldn't help but be so incredibly proud of the country we live in and thankful for those who have given their lives to preserve our freedom.
As I was sitting in church I realized that I needed to try to put into words what I feel. Some people think that because I want to live in Asia it means that I don't like America or that I am not thankful for my heritage. That couldn't be farther from the truth. I scrapped a page to try to convey my thoughts. I am not totally happy with the journaling and I will probably redo it before printing, but you can get the gist of it. And, as always, you can click the photo to make it bigger.

So, our weekend has been WONDERFUL. We don't usually get the weekend off, and when we do, we have to start working again on Sunday night at 6:30. But the boys don't come back this weekend until tonight and we have had a "real" weekend. I can't tell you how wonderful it has been to just have time together...time to cuddle, to read books, to swim, to eat as a family. Pure bliss!

We finally took Katelynn to the pool yesterday. We have been wanting to go for a while but just haven't had the chance. I didn't want to bring her out in the Florida mid-day sun and we work every afternoon and evening. So this weekend was perfect. I was really excited to do this. We have taken all of our kids in the pool at around 10 weeks and all of them have been bare-bellied and in the same hat. So cute!
She did so good...not one tear shed! Well, not until we had been there for over and hour and she was more than tired! And shock of all shocks, I scrapped another page.
Today has lots in store -- finishing up the June grab bags, taking pictures for a friend, and soaking up all the family stuff I can before the boys come home. For those of you traveling and BBQing...have a great time!
Two more pages for you...feels SO GOOD to scrap again. I'm rusty, but it will come back.

Soooo awesome! I love that Praise page! I just recently gave up on finding the 'perfect' church..has always been my struggle...so we have found one that miraculously fits our child's needs over and above our expectations..maybe mine were too high to begin with..but just enjoying it and not worrying about my expectations has made it even more incredible everytime we go. :)

I love all of your pages but I thought the one on being an American was worded beautifully. My husband and I lived in Romania years ago as missionaries and those are times I would NEVER trade. It is very hard for people to understand why we would love to live there again when we have so much here. It was as if you were looking into my head when you wrote why you wanted to live in Asia because those are some of the same reasons why we would move to Europe again. We love America, and we feel so truly blessed to have all that has been given to us. As you know we are all called for a specific purpose in this life and we feel our calling is to "go" and help others in different parts of the world. Hopefully we will get to go and do that again someday, God willing. Thank you for standing up so stongly for what you feeland for reminding us all that the picture is much bigger than ourselves.
